Hello darlings, and Happy New Year to you all!!
With the New Year finally here I wanted to incorporate a monthly Beauty Product Reviews into my blog. So in other words, every first of the month I will go out and find a few products from various places and try them out. After 2 or 3 weeks of using the products i will deliver my honest reviews on them for you all.
For January, I have selected 4 products that i have been dying to try because I’ve read some pretty good reviews on them, and well I wanted to see for myself what all the hype was about.
Let’s get started!!
1- Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser
I’m going to kick-Start January’s review with The Albolene cleanser since it’s actually the product that I was most excited to try out…and wow it totally lived to my very expectations! One thing that i must tell you before you continue reading is that i am Not using this product as a facial cleanser! I’m using it as a fitness aide….yup , you’ve read correctly!
Albolene has been used for quiet some time by many people within the fitness world to help lose extra water weight ( especially for women since we retain more water ) that’s trapped in our bodies. Yes , this product is marketed as a facial cleanser , but it truly does double as a very effective sweating cream for out stubborn body parts that need a little extra help. Like for me it’s my stomach…. Matter of fact when you visit the Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser website they have a section with real life people giving so many testimonials on how this product has helped them with their weight loss and Fitness goals.
The way that Albolene works for sweating and losing that extra stubborn water weight is simple. The cream , which is very light weight and fragrance free, covers the skin , therefor forcing heat to build up. once the heats builds up, perspiration within the skin occurs and as a result a greater amount of trapped water weight is removed!A added bonus is that it leaves the skin feeling super smooth and moisturized. Albolene works exactly like Sweet Sweat but it’s soooo much more cheaper in price! A 6oz jar of Sweet sweat will run you $24.95 as for a 12oz of Albolene will only be like $12 at your local Walgreens. Now that is a great big difference, and a much better bang for your buck!
The way I use this product is by rubbing a generous amount of cream all over my stomach, love handles and lower back , followed by wrapping a waist trimmer around my stomach. I go on and do my workouts and once I’m finished working out I sit in the sauna for 15 minutes and wahlaaa! No lie, when i remove the waist trimmer I’m always drenged in sweat. I highly recommend this product and belive me, you’ll thank me later!
2- Aveeno 60 Second In-Shower Facial
I first heard about the Aveeno in shower facial through an add on the Oprah Magazine… within in seconds I knew that I totally needed this in life. I mean who doesn’t love a facial? and all it takes is 60 seconds? So what they are saying is that it works it’s magic while I’m showering, meaning that I’m not adding extra minutes to my shower routine. This is pure genius!
I was able to get this Aveeno 60 second in-shower facial at my local Target for $6.79 ( cheaper than I actually expected, but I’m sure as heck not complaining ) and it’s a 50z tube.
So here is how it works…. while you are in the shower you gently apply the cleanser all over your face ( avoiding your eyes and mouth of course ) for 1 minute. I sometimes leave it on for a bit longer. After the minute or so , you gently massage the cleanser all over your face and rinse it off. How simple was that?
immediately after your first use you notice how incredibly soft your skin feels, and I’d say that after your 2nd or 3rd time using it your skin does appear brighter and more rejuvenated. The directions do say to only use it 1-2 days per week…so don’t get rid of your regular facial cleaner!
3- NYX badunkadunk Lush Lashes Mascara
Everyone knows that I can’t live with out mascara!! So I’m always searching for new formulas and brands. I was actually just browsing through the makeup section at the Walgreens by my job, and came across this mascara. Right away I was hooked by the name “badunkadunk Lush Lashes “! What made it more appealing was how inexpensive it was. I got it for only $7 and for someone who goes though masacara like crazy, this was a total dream come true for my wallet… oh and lashes too!
I have to say that I really like this mascara, I don’t love it, but for 7 bucks this mascara is amazing! The wand is big and I know some people don’t like that, but it has like a million tiny brissels that give a nice and even coating to all your lashes. The formula is a bit thick , which is totally not a bad things since it just simply means that you don’t have to pile a whole bunch of mascara on your lashes because with only 1 coat you already get a pretty nice, full and voluptuous effect.
In my opinion, this is by far the best Drug store mascara I Have ever bought! Not to mention that it’s the best $7 I have ever spend!
4- NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation
I really, like really wanted to love this foundation but I don’t. It’s not that I hate it, but it did not give me the ” wow factor” that I guess I expected to feel. I think it’s a bit over priced at $18 for a 1.12fl. oz tube ( you can find it a many local drug stores or the NYX Makeup website ) that wasn’t a big difference from many other foundations that are priced lower. On the brighter side of it, the foundation goes on very smoothly and light. The coverage is light and natural, and you can build it up, but be careful, once you start building it up it can appear cakey. The shade I have is HDF103 Natural. which matches my skin tone very well. It also last through out the day way better than other drug store brands that wear off with just one touch of your face.
As you can see from the photos above, it does look natural ( which I love ) and smooth. I’m not sure if I’ll be getting this foundation again ..so stay tuned for February’s beauty reviews to see if I finally found a foundation that I totally fall in love with!
Hope you enjoyed my reviews! As always, please feel free to give me your feedbacks and suggestions on what products to review for you all!
